On Saturday West Ham United won a relegation six pointer against Nottingham Forest to move out of the relegation zone and probably save manager David Moyes' job.
An excellent piece in the Daily Telegraph lists the six reasons why West Ham will avoid the drop. Of these, the most important were Moyes decision to switch to a flat back four and the decision to take a risk on the fitness of Danny Ings. As a result the team looked more balanced and Ings repaid his manager in full with two quickfire goals.
West Ham will survive because they have goals in the team, whereas other clubs down at the bottom can barely score. Take Everton as the prime example.
No doubt that the relegation battle will go to the last day; by then West Ham should be safely clear of the fight.
There are a wide range of framed prints of West Ham players at www.intosport.co.uk including Bobby Moore's last game and the three World Cup '66 winners. These make a great gift to a the West Ham fan in your life.
